Set in the iconic Port Hercules in the principality of Monaco, the Monaco Yacht Show represents the pinnacle of luxury. Each year, the MYS curates the exhibition of 125+ extraordinary one-off superyachts built by the world’s most respected shipyards and welcomes leaders from the yachting industry. In September, the yachting industry turns its focus exclusively to the MYS where forty or so new launches are annually unveiled in a worldwide debut. 600 exhibiting companies and partners participate in the growing success of the MYS. Monaco provides the ultimate showcase for industry influencers from the most reputable superyacht builders, award winning yacht designers, luxury suppliers, influential brokerage houses to the most sought-after water toys, prestige cars, helicopter and private jet manufacturers.
On the eve of the Monaco Yacht Show, the 6th annual edition of the show’s Superyacht Awards Ceremony distinguished four spectacular luxury vessels that made their world debut in Monaco. The ceremony was hosted during the MYS Inaugural Gala event that took place on 24 September at the Yacht Club de Monaco. The event was attended by 350 VIP guests from the yachting social elite, owners, business leaders and CEOs of the show’s partners from the luxury industry, by invitation only. The trophies of the Awards Ceremony are especially made by the Czech manufacture Preciosa with a hand-blown crystal technique. The trophies represent the fluidness and irregularity of the sea – the ripples, movement and changes — only the trophy of the MYS/RINA Award is offered by RINA.
The 2019 Monaco Yacht Show features an outstanding line-up of 125 superyachts, of which 44 new launches. This year’s fleet was the largest and the most voluminous ever exhibited since 1991. The total worth of superyachts on display reaches around 4 billion Euros for an average asking price of yachts available for sale of 37.8 million Euros (source: analysis delivered by SuperYacht Times on the basis of the yachts over 30 metres in length exhibited at the 2019 MYS).
