A new capsule collection reinvents iconic Serpenti watches with the royal beauty of purple amethyst. Bvlgari has always been known for its daring use of coloured gems, mixing precious and semi-precious stones in unexpected combinations. Now, Bvlgari draws on its legacy as the charismatic Roman jeweller to reimagine three of its best-known Serpenti jewelry watches.

Over centuries, amethyst has been imbued with various attributes and meanings. Associated with trust, intuition and spirituality, it is worn for protection and to quiet the mind. Cherished by the Egyptians as early as 4000 B.C., purple amethyst has always represented power. In ancient Rome and Greece, it adorned the crowns, scepters and rings of royalty and clergymen. Bvlgari has long had a love affair with amethyst, chiseling it into the Maison’s signature cuts and setting it with diamonds, gold and other coloured stones to create striking pieces.

For the new capsule, three distinctive watches represent three different facets of Serpenti – and three interpretations of femininity. Serpenti Amethyst captures the endless renewal associated with the snake, as well as the unbridled creativity that inspires Bvlgari designs. These watches are jewels as much as timepieces – and there is a style for every woman.

The Serpenti Incantati was first introduced in 2016. Now, it debuts with a rose gold case set with diamonds and a total of 33 amethysts weighing 2.45 carats. The alligator strap and hands are also a rich violet hue. A new capsule collection reinvents three iconic Serpenti watches with the royal beauty of purple amethyst.

The Serpenti Misteriosi Bangle was first introduced in 2016. In this year’s special edition, is set with baguette-cut amethysts to represent the scales of the snake and pear-shape cut amethysts for the eyes.

The Serpenti Scaglie first debuted in 2009, an instant icon for its wraparound bracelet and snakehead dial. Here, it features buff-cut amethysts set in rose gold and paired with brilliant diamonds to resemble the scaglie (Italian name for scales) of the serpent. The 126 amethysts weigh a total of 6.65 carats. Violet hands stand out against the mother-of-pearl dial.
